Robert Wilson - Photographer
In the past eight years I have lived in four different cities and two different countries. During this time I have seen countless people come and go. The expat lifestyle tends to be a transient one, and even more so than with most people, you never know what tomorrow might hold. When you look back ten years and three countries down the road, how will you remember this season of life?
I didn't know what a great photographer was until a family photo shoot with Robert of Wilson Photography. He has become the measuring stick by which I've measured all subsequent photographers. Willis Loftin
This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other a little better, for me to find out what you are looking for from a photographer, and to answer any questions you may have about the Wilson Photography experience. Typically I like to meet face to face for coffee, or if schedules for some reason don't work out, a video chat can be arranged.
I'll take everything that was discussed during our meeting and put together a 'personalized photography proposal'. The proposal is essentially a road map outlining how we are going to take your vision and turn it into outstanding images you will love. Once reviewed and agreed upon, we are ready to schedule the shoot.
It is important that you look and feel your best on the day of the photo shoot, so take a little extra time for yourself to relax, get ready, and get out the door. This is especially true if you have small children as they are experts at derailing plans. Plan to arrive a couple minutes early and expect to spend around an hour to an hour and a half creating pictures.
As a professional photographer, I strive to create images that you will love and enjoy for years to come. For this reason, every shoot not only includes high definition images for digital display and sharing but also an in-person proofing session and print credit. As great as digital images are, there is nothing quite like the experience of a high quality printed image.
In addition to his tremendous gifts as a photographer, Robert is also very pleasant to work with. He is friendly, humble, and a man of great integrity. We knew that we were in very good hands throughout the entire [photography] experience. Steven Daughtry
Qingdao is undeniably a beautiful place to live. From the seaside and the mountains to the bustling city streets there is just about everything a photographer could want. On any given day you can find countless people down along the bay taking pictures. So what goes into a good picture? When it comes to shooting on location, being at the right place at the right time is essential. This is where location scouting comes in....
If you read my post "The Importance of the Printed Image in the Digital Age" from a few weeks ago, you will know that I have been searching for a professional photographic printing service here in China.
The local print shops can at times produce a decent image, however, it's not at the professional quality I am after and the results are often inconsistent. As a result, I decided to look at several online printing services...
Maybe I am the only person who finds "The art of art museum lighting" an engrossing read, but as a photographer, light is a big deal. Photography in its most basic sense literally means "drawing with light"...
[The printed photograph] truly is lovely. Thank you so much for putting it together for us. Your skill is clearly displayed in all aspects. Gretchen Clarke
